Jason: My name is Jason Hensley, Engineering Manager at Horizon Arrow Structures in Olathe, Kansas.
Interviewer: Awesome. Jason, do you mind just telling me a little bit about what your experience as a TMAC and ToolConnect user has been so far?
Jason: So TMAC has helped us solidify our process, making it more user-friendly, unattended machining, controlling our tool costs by keeping our tool wear noticed and monitored and protecting our assets by preventing crashes, keeping our controlling the system to where it will speed or slow it down so we’re not overworking the parts, overworking the machines, our spindles. Okay, in our plant ToolConnect is used to take the operator opportunity for error out of the equation. It’s all controlled from engineering all the way down to the tool presetter, all the way to the control, all hands-off, all automated.
Interviewer: What part of the future of manufacturing are you most excited about?
Jason: So I’m most excited about the aerospace industry and manufacturing and the advanced innovations, such as what Wolfram’s doing with TMAC and the ToolConnect and its ability to control the process and monitor. We’re starting in 2024.
Interviewer: What were your favorite improvements that you guys made in your facility in 2023?
Jason: In 2023, in our facility, we went back and looked at our processes and optimized all of our high runners. We’ve reduced cost, increased our margins. Our quality is so much better than it was in 2022. Thank you. dropped our quality escapes down to next to nothing all based off of innovation that we were able to get and implement in 2023.
