Wolfram Manufacturing Technologies acquires XMC® machine communication platform to expand depth of machine monitoring solutions

AUSTIN, TX – SEPTEMBER 8, 2022 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wolfram Manufacturing Technologies, a developer and integrator of advanced machine tool technologies has acquired the XMC® machine communication and analytics platform to expand its suite of machine monitoring and production management software solutions. Wolfram’s existing software platform, OnTakt, is ideal for small and medium sized shops looking to implement an easy to setup, all-in-one solution for managing their manufacturing floor.  XMC enables enterprises to collect, filter, and route machine data to dashboards, factory apps and enterprise solutions. The acquisition provides robust, scalable product offerings for shops of any size.

“With decades of proven experience, XMC’s connectivity to machine tools and other data sources will immediately expand the capabilities of our OnTakt software by enabling OnTakt to be deployed faster across a much wider range of machine tool controls” says Nathan Byman, President of Wolfram Manufacturing Technologies. “OnTakt, powered by XMC, will be an ideal machine monitoring and production management solution to enable small and medium sized manufacturers to make smart, rapid decisions.”

Wolfram will continue to support existing XMC customers and offer the XMC product line to the market. XMC’s broad range of machine connectivity options are ideal for machine data collection, performance monitoring, or integration with MES, ERP, and QMS systems. XMC’s high frequency data capture and filtering capabilities enables manufacturers to capture and route machine performance data to factory apps and enterprise level solutions.

“We have been pushing the limits of machine connectivity for almost 30 years, as evidenced by the diversity of world-wide customers and portfolio of U.S. and international patents,” says Jay Clark, President of XMC. “Like us, Wolfram has been very forward-thinking in its approach to developing and implementing new technologies since its inception. We are excited to join forces to bring even better solutions to the machine tool industry.”

ABOUT WOLFRAM MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES

Wolfram Manufacturing Technologies develops, distributes, and integrates advanced technologies that enable manufacturers to run CNC machines more profitably with less operator attention. Wolfram utilizes the advanced technologies that they offer, day in and day out, within their production CNC operation. In April of 2022 Wolfram released its software, OnTakt, that includes pre-built modules for machine monitoring, production management, run quality, and data forensics from systems like Caron Engineering’s TMAC.

ABOUT XMC®

XMC® was pioneered in 1994 to solve the interoperability problem between disparate software systems and machine controls. XMC has fueled a passion for nearly 30 years of making machines and people more productive in an increasingly connected world.
